EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing
EMDR is an eight phase treatment based on Adaptive Information Processing Theory which helps your brain process trauma efficiently. Your therapist will help you identify target memories that are keeping you stuck. We will work through maladaptive thought patterns, disturbing emotions, and body reactions and help you identify and reinforce positive beliefs. We use dual attention and alternating bilateral stimulation to help your brain process trauma, negative thought patterns, and feelings in order for you to increase resiliency and effective coping.
